A gap to the left of Ovilia on the Tabula's top edge seems to be nothing more than a copying error. The route is part of the Limes defence line, and matches a place in the Danube valley that was passable, it not by foot then surely by boat. Talbert 992 suggests a drawing of mountains confused the copyist.
