4,3:1 Ancona

No linework has been drawn by the copyist for the route leading downwards from Ancone, but place-labels and distances are given. Talbert 1161 notes the difficulty of inserting a line which does not bar through the text.

Additionally, it is not entirely clear which itinerary this line belongs to. Talbert reconstructs the intended route as: Ancone XII - Avsimo XIIII - Ricina XII - vrbesalvia XII - Asclopiceno, which not only makes good sense in terms of Roman travel patterns, but forms a relatively horizontal sequence which conforms with the ductus of the chart.

Miller 313 offers a peculiar reconstruction where Strecke 51 runs: Ancone - Avsimo - Ricina - vrbesalvia - [Camerinum] - Foro Flamini - Spoletio. The twists and turns required for such a line suggest it is most unlikely to have been the route the chart-maker had in mind.
