4,3:3 Aquae Appollinaris

Miller 298 offers a useful proposal to correct the line-work in this section, whereby the coast road (which I have drawn blue) would be shifted downwards so as not to cut through Aquae Appollinaris and part of the line-work above this must also shift down, in effect taking the station Ad Novas out of what I have drawn as an olive-green line and putting it in the thin black line.

Miller lists (numbers are Roman miles as given on the manuscript):

Ad novas, die Station samt der Zahl fehlt hier, steht aber auf der darüberliegenden Linie zwischen Sabate und Careias, wo sie unbrauchbar ist; jetzt Tolfa.

Miller's reasoning is of course based on geography only, but it also neatly solves an implausibility in the graphic layout of the Vienna manuscript.
